Red Flag Warning – Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Red Flag Warning in effect today, March 24. No open burning allowed in Boulder County. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or imminent.

Penalties for non-compliance are outlined in Ordinance 2014-1.

Weather Update – 6:30p.m.

We know the weather feels especialy unpredictable tonight. There is not currently a flash flood risk. All of the activity appears to be in Weld and Larimer counties with numberous flash flood warnings in place in those counties. We are seeing this trend holding for the next two to three hours. We will be reevaluating at that time.

You can sleep soundly by getting your go-bag ready, making a plan with your family, making sure you’re signed up for emergency alerts and your NOAA weather radio is working properly so you’re woken up if any warnings occur.

Weather Update – 4:50p.m.

The Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the weather. Our fellow Coloradoan neighbors up the I-25 corridor and to the east of I-25 are experiencing extremely heavy rain. While it is raining across of much of Boulder County, we have not had severe storms yet. Expect more rain throughout the evening. We’ll continue to update information here.
