|
Currently, it is estimated that containment of the fire is at 90% and it is believed there will be 100% containment by this evening.
Last night at 7 p.m. the management of the fire was transitioned from the Type 3 Incident Management Team to the Type 4 Incident Management Team. The Type 4 Incident Management Team consists of local managers from the City and County of Boulder.
Today, there will be approximately 50 firefighters continuing to mop up the interior, which will consist of two hand crews with the assistance of the local fire protection districts.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. Investigators are confident that the fire was the result of human activity in the area but at this point the cause is undetermined. Investigators have been unable to pinpoint the origin of the fire but did locate two campfire pits and a heavily used hiking trail nearby were it was believed to have started.
Tonight, firefighters will remain on-scene throughout the night to patrol the fire perimeter for hot spots, but crews are not expected to actively fight the fire.
