The CalWood Fire remains 85 percent contained. Today, patrols monitoring the fire found no sources of heat or smoke, although the Boulder County Communications Center received multiple phone calls about smoke columns. As snow, ash and dust blows around it might look a lot like smoke. Please rest assured, firefighters will continue to closely monitor and patrol the fire for any sources of heat or smoke. Snow is holding well on the north aspects of the fire in the rocky area above Highway 7. The Another MMA flight will take place tomorrow to once again check for sources of heat on the north side of the fire. Winds are expected tomorrow. A storm this weekend is expected to bring more snow to the fire area.
