Boulder County Public Health and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management are actively monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and are in close and regular contact with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local emergency managers. We have plans, partnerships, and resources in place to support the community as concerns continue to rise around the novel coronavirus, especially now that the first case has been confirmed in Colorado.
Additionally, OEM has formed a Unified Joint Information System (UJIS) to assess and address local communications needs around the COVID-19 coronavirus. Our goal, working with all cities and towns, schools, hospitals, business associations, etc. in Boulder County is to disseminate timely, factual communications around COVID-19.

What can you do to keep yourself, your coworkers and your family safe?
We know you’ve heard it all before, but you can help keep yourself and others from getting sick by practicing these everyday wellness steps:
- Clean your hands frequently with soap and water (for a full 20 seconds) or use an alcohol-based hand rub if soap and water are not available.
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
- Stay home if you are sick. Get an annual flu vaccine if you have not had one.
