Emergency Funds for Rental and Mortgage Assistance
On Friday, March 20th, Governor Polis signed Executive Order D 2020 012 addressing evictions, foreclosures, utility disconnections, and unemployment insurance. The executive order provided $3 million from the disaster emergency fund to DOH to provide short-term rental and mortgage assistance to low-income households economically impacted by COVID-19.
To qualify for these assistance funds:
- Your household must have earned less than 50% of the area median income prior to the impacts of COVID-19. You can look here, to see if you qualify.
- You must be experiencing financial hardship due to the economic disruption caused by COVID-19.
- Other qualifications and documentation required will be explained by the agency you work to access the funds.
To access these funds, dial 211 or go to the 211 website and you will be directed to the resource that best meets your needs.
