October 22 Evening Update:
Crews took advantage of the weather today to make additional progress towards containment on both fires.
Firefighters on the #LefthandCanyonFire worked through the day to finish mopping up and patrolling containment lines. As of tonight, the Lefthand Canyon Fire is 100% contained and remained at 460 acres. Firefighters will be assigned to patrol the fire in the coming days.
On the #CalWoodFire, firefighters were active on all sides of fire today. In Division N and Z, crews worked east and west towards each other improving and mopping up containment lines on the south side of the fire. On the north edge of the fire, crews in Divisions A and the eastern end of Division F also patrolled and mopped up lines that were accessible. In the steeper terrain in the western end of Division F, crews monitored as the fire slowly worked its way down the canyon towards Highway 7. As of tonight, the CalWood Fire is 10,073 acres and 55% contained.
