Lyons Parks Estates issued evacuation ORDER in anticipation of upcoming high wind event later today (10/21) and overnight into Thursday (10/22)

Due to fire behavior observed on the #CalWoodFire and the forecasted wind event for overnight hours, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation order for Lyons Park Estates to allow residents time to safely evacuate and prevent any evacuations being needed in the middle of the night.

We request that evacuating residents go east on HWY 66 to N. 75th, turn south, and take Diagonal Hwy (SH119) into Boulder. (U.S. 36 is still closed between St. Vrain (north) and Nebo (south) to allow for active firefighting operations.)

The Cal-Wood Fire remains in the current fire footprint and is not currently advancing to the north or northeast. While the northeast corner of the Cal-Wood Fire is still within the fire perimeter and fire behavior remains moderate, it is with an abundance of caution that the evacuation order for Lyons Park Estates was issued.

Deputies are currently going door-to-door making notifications to all Lyons Park Estates residences. As a reminder, all residents being evacuated should think about any winterization that needs to be completed to their property due to the possible incoming winter weather. Any evacuee who needs a hotel voucher can go to the Evacuation Coordination Center at 1333 Iris Ave, which is located in Boulder County’s North Broadway Health & Human Services campus at the corner of Broadway and Iris in Boulder.
