Sunshine Wildland Fire Evacuation Order Update

The Sunshine Wildland Fire is currently 65% contained, and areas under evacuation orders will be shifted to evacuation warnings. Re-entry to the areas previously under evacuation order will begin at 6pm, however if you do not need to come back please stay out of the area. A red flag warning will be in place on Wednesday from 10:00am – 4:00pm, and winds will likely increase during this time which can cause increased fire behavior. Depending on weather and fire behavior evacuation orders may be re-issued for this area.

Sunshine Road will reopen at 6pm tonight, and there will be a soft closure at Linden and Timber Lane meaning that only residents will be allowed back into the area. If you do return to the area, please stay off of public roads and keep vehicles stored in garages and driveways clear as fire crews are still working in the area and may need access.

Individuals who return to the area may see smoke and small flare ups of the fire, but should only call 911 if they see fire moving. Fire personnel will be patrolling the perimeter of the fire overnight.
